Rosco came back and said their barrel measures 14.25" OAL with a tape measure from the extension face to the muzzle face, and I put that in assembly in Solidworks and their barrel is ~13.881" OAL to the breechface, so 2.7535" would be the length of a muzzle device to make it 16.01, whereas 2.61" will make the Faxon 16.01" That way we don't have to resort to an undercutting ball to make a feature in the flash hider that craps on the way it functions, such that for all the extra work, it has slightly more flash. 100" to the 2.25 Taper mount stealth in front, and put the rest of the required length behind the device. I think maybe the ideal way to do this would be to add. Yes absolutely we could, and that's what I've been suggesting, but the question becomes more of what barrels to support as they are apparently different lengths. As far as I can tell these are the current manufacturers of 13.7" barrels. I've e-mailed SOLGW, Aero, Rosco, Ballistic advantage, and Faxon to inquire as to what the length manufactured and rod measured is. 100" longer, but that's all the flexibility we have from a functional engineering perspective. 100" and make the flash suppressor forward of the MP7 style extension. If we really wanted to get into the weeds, we could add. It sounds like an unattractive project from the perspective of the people asking not liking the solution. 100" of forward room to work with on our 2.25 style flash suppressor.įrom that perspective the sensible mount to make would be the 2.25" with the MP7 style extension behind it, and what that extension length would need to be, would be relative to the unkown 13.7" length that potentially could be 14". The Paladin with EcoFlow and the ET2 are ~2.40" Max length supportive, leaving us only about. I just checked and if we made the 2.66" mount it would only be compatible with the Explorr UT2 with L or XL mounts, and the Recce 5/7. Like maybe he realized he had been misleading people and then had no good thing to say. One of the vendors of the barrels I texted, and he just went quiet. So there may be a bunch of different lengths sold as 13.7", but I've never been able to get one person to confirm the length of any OEM market provided barrel sold as a 13.7" barrel. It's crazy how niche this category looks from the outside looking in.ġ3.7 has always been a mystery sku- people claimed a 2.6" muzzle device reaches 16" but the math doesn't add up. In your case it's a custom length barrel and a more or less custom caliber for this application. Without any concensus it's just a constantly variable product request. Whenever we explain what a solution looks like people don't want the weight, or the length, and that also says that we are being asked to make unobtanium. Not knowing the barrel length, and realizing that people are essentially asking us to make mounts that we would have to represent as a facetious legal perm length solution, keeps this project from being attractive. Like maybe he realized he had been misleading people and then had nothing good to say. One of the vendors of the barrels I texted, and he just went quiet when I asked him how this length combination was working out. Non std thread length and not 13.7" length.ġ3.7 has always been a mystery sku- people claimed a 2.6" muzzle device reaches 16" but the math doesn't add up. It makes a lot of sense that your barrel is a custom cut down barrel. So there is no functional need for the length. We recently tested our 2.25" sku and it outperformed Surefire's 2.6" model. We still haven't closed out the last SKU (granted its an M1A so that's not as hard to understand), so what remains has been here 6 years. We discontinued the 2.66" stealth in like 2016.
